The Dreamers
Paris, 1968. Whilst protests escalate outside, three young film enthusiasts retreat to a flat. In this self-contained world, they begin an innocent film quiz that soon transforms into a game of freedom, lust and desire. THE DREAMERS intertwines political upheaval with an intimate experiment, film history with personal experience, reality and performance. Somewhere between provocation and innocence, a film emerges about youth as a state of emergency and the seductive power of images. Michael Althen: “But the most beautiful thing about this film is that it, which is so full of humility towards cinema, was made by a man before whose films everyone else ought to bow just as deeply.”
