… ned, tassot, yossot … – Frauen, Fußball, Nordkorea

In the film "… ned, tassot, yossot … - Women, Football, North Korea," filmmaker Brigitte Weich and cinematographer Judith Benedikt return to the isolated country to interview four female footballers from the national team, exploring how their lives have evolved. These four women, previously featured in the documentary "HANA, DUL, SED …" (AT 2011), are no longer active in professional sports and are now pursuing careers either behind the scenes or in entirely different fields.

The women discuss their lives and status as female athletes, parental expectations, appearances and conduct, careers, and family planning. Sometimes, the country’s message control seems to fade into the background, while on certain topics, it is evident that the women are not always free to speak openly about their concerns. In addition to the protagonists, North Korea's only female film director is also interviewed. She has directed a TV soap opera about the footballers: excerpts from the series, which promotes a traditional image of women and devoted patriotism, provide another, more domestic and conformist perspective on the topic.
