Freeride Filmfestival 2026

The Freeride Filmfestival 2026 presents six films exploring the extremes of life in the mountains, from avalanches and sailing trips to quiet stories of friendship and belonging. All six share the same central idea: letting go of control in order to move with nature.

Yin
Swiss professional snowboarder Daria Fuchs searches for her connection to the frozen world, from snow-covered peaks to sea level, where she explores surfing and the elements in Japan. Directed by Morgan Maassen.

Inside Circles
Director Dominic Knoppe travels through Iceland and Norway with his friends Max Pflanzl and Tim Boehringer, riding snowboards and splitboards and sailing wherever the wind takes them. A film about the freedom that emerges when you stop trying to control nature and start moving with it.

Uncle Timmy
In a vision of the future, professional snowboarder Timm Schröder, known as “Uncle Timmy,” tells his best friend Dino Flatz’s children the story of his life, from World Championship titles and brutal slams to genuine loss. The boundaries between truth and exaggeration begin to blur.

A group of Japanese skiers and filmmakers based in Canada combines traditional Taiko drumming and the philosophy of “Wabi-Sabi” with the majestic wilderness of Canada.

75 Seconds
On a foggy evening in March in Norway, freeskiier Jacob Wester triggers an avalanche. For 75 seconds, he fights for his life in a raging chaos of snow, while his wife Sofia waits silently below. A raw and direct film about chaos, fear, and hope.

Ferryland
In the Norwegian fjord village of Trandal, home to just 17 residents and some of the country’s best freeride spots, a group of friends returns to save their season against the clock.
