Following her first sexual experience, a young woman finds herself in an emotional state for which she initially lacks the words. Within an intimate, surreal world, her internal conflict—a tangle of pain, confusion, and a vague, as-yet-unnamable intuition—is laid bare. The body becomes a medium of expression: choreographed movements and dance-like sequences translate the unspeakable into a sensory, dreamlike visual language.

From this personal crisis emerges a poignant exploration of female self-determination, memory, and the challenge of reconnecting with one’s own body after a boundary-crossing experience. *Duele más no saber* picks up where words fall short—using movement, imagery, and the body itself.

UN ÚLTIMO BOLERO
Roberto Thomas-Díaz, Panama, 2025, short film
SCREENPLAY, EDITING Roberto Thomas-Díaz | CINEMATOGRAPHY Rafa Leonard | SOUND Harry Suarez | MUSIC Heriberto Pinzón | CAST Marisín Luzcando, Luis Arteaga, Marie Claire Marine, Jason Robinson, Gilberto Aranda
9 min | Color, Spanish with English subtitles, DCP

One final visit. A room where time seems to stand still. Silka approaches the bedside of a man she loved decades ago—a man who is now dying. What begins as an act of care turns into a journey into her own memories—to a love that once defined her life, to political betrayal, and to the disappointments of a past she thought she had long since left behind.

Within the confines of the room, the past and the present begin to blur. Silka must confront wounds that never fully healed, and grapple with the question of whether forgiveness is still possible when so little time remains.

*Un último bolero* is a poetic, intimate drama about love, guilt, and memory—and about the things that, even after decades, have not faded away.

THE JOURNEY OF THE KOKORRDIT

Deep within the Darién, on the border between Panama and Colombia, lives the Wounaan people—a peaceful community that has existed in harmony with nature for generations. But their territory is under threat: illegal loggers, drug traffickers, cattle ranchers, and mining companies are relentlessly encroaching upon the rainforest, while the state stands idly by, refusing to recognize the Wounaan’s land rights.

When Chief Areo Peña discovers that the sacred Kokorrdit bird has vanished from the region—a consequence of reckless deforestation—he makes a decision: he will find the bird, and in doing so, restore the spiritual balance of his community. But Areo will not be traveling alone. By his side is Ayned, a rebellious teenager who lives in the city, cares for little beyond her mobile phone, and has long since become estranged from the traditions of her own people.

The journey will be anything but easy. Traveling on foot and by river, the two must traverse one of the most dangerous regions in the world—an area notorious not only for its pristine wilderness, but, above all, for the threats posed by human beings. Amidst illegal migrants and demobilized guerrilla fighters, venomous snakes and black-market traders, Areo and Ayned set out in search of the sacred bird. Along the way, they must learn to accept their differences and get along—for perhaps they are more alike than they realize.

A film about the struggle for survival, the power of tradition, and an unexpected bond between two generations that could not be more different.
