18th Central American Film Festival 2026

A week filled with stories that move the heart and provoke thought: the festival showcases the diversity of Central American cinema, featuring feature films, documentaries, and short films from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. The program is further enriched by contributions from Mexico, Colombia, and Uruguay.

At the core of the festival are themes of identity, memory, migration, and social change. A special focus is placed on the guest of honor, Cuba, with an entire evening dedicated to its short films.

In addition to the film screenings, the festival offers opportunities to engage with filmmakers. A varied supporting program includes live music, cocktails, and the traditional “fiesta popular”. The offerings are rounded out by school screenings accompanied by discussions in Spanish.
