Zero Dark Thirty
3,520 days separate the September 11 attacks from Operation Neptune’s Spear—the CIA-led military mission that culminated in the killing of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. Throughout this period, CIA analyst Maya persistently sifts through interrogation transcripts, conflicting testimonies, and political resistance—until she uncovers a lead that many dismiss as too simple… Contemporary history—even when adapted by Hollywood—makes no concessions to those who wish to avoid spoilers; yet, Bigelow masterfully sustains the tension in this thriller. Much like "The Hurt Locker", the film is based on research by war correspondent Mark Boal, and its narrative is driven by a logic born of intense pressure and urgency. (Otto Römisch)
