Wild Friday Night: Poltergeist III / Der Manitou

A haunted skyscraper or a demon on your neck? Our Wild Friday Night in May serves up a double helping of the supernatural. In the third and final instalment of the POLTERGEIST series – which proved fatal for some of the cast but was a box-office hit – the otherworldly forces are up to no good amongst mirrors, escalators and neon lights: The ghosts are back – and are clearly having a field day with the city’s architecture and the design blunders of the 1980s.

Things get even more bizarre in DER MANITOU, in which an ancient demon – hold on tight – is reborn as a growing tumour on a woman’s neck. Because the doctors are unable to help, she turns to a spiritualist … Sounds like a dodgy charade – but it’s pure late-night cinema: grotesque, over-the-top and absolutely irresistible!
