White Material

Maria Vial runs a coffee plantation in a country on the brink of civil war. As armed groups take over the area, she refuses to leave. The plantation is part of her identity, not just an economic asset. Her ex-husband and son are caught up in the maelstrom of events. Denis tells the story of a woman who clings to a sense of stability, even though the political situation has long since spiraled out of control.
