Whiplash

19-year-old Andrew Neiman is a gifted drummer. He is taken under the wing of conductor Terence Fletcher at one of the most renowned music schools in the country. The well-known bandleader encourages the young drummer, but he challenges him even more: with brutal teaching methods that increasingly degenerate into violent excesses, he wants to drive Andrew to peak performance and pushes him to his physical and emotional limits. The up-and-coming musician faces up to the ordeal because his greatest wish is to become one of the greatest drummers in the world. While his worried father Jim increasingly doubts the teacher's methods and intentions, Andrew stubbornly perseveres. But how much more can the teenager take?
