In 1942, in the western territories of the USSR occupied by the Wehrmacht, a man is arrested after an act of sabotage. While the other suspects are hanged, he remains alive. The partisans consider him a traitor and want to take revenge – but an unexpected turn of events forces everyone to act beyond loyalty or enmity. Amidst the cruel logic of war, all that remains is a fragile moment of humanity.
