vienna shorts: Times of (Be)Longing Queer Hope

In Hopeful Horizons, queer generations meet, boundaries between friendship and romantic love blur, and social norms around bodies and identities are called into question. This program turns to archives (of feeling), arrival and departure. Together with the protagonists, we immerse ourselves in their worlds: they let us feel intimacy beyond heteronormative frameworks, a longing for home without a fixed place, and take us along on a Ferris wheel ride full of confidence. As we drift between past, present and future, we are reminded that hope will not fall silent.
