vienna shorts: Shifting Perspectives Unstable Images And New Meanings

Year2026

Duration46min.

What lies behind images when we shift our attention? Three films show how a change of perspective opens up new layers of meaning. First, in Edward Serotta's photographs from Romania and the reverse shot from surveillance files. Then in an analog found object and the evolution of images into the digital and the unreal. Finally, modern technology exposes old layers in paintings—and with them the precarious working conditions of artists then and now. In Shifting Perspectives, we find unstable images and new meanings.
