Útóipe Cheilteach (Celtic Utopia)
A century after independence, a bold new generation of Irish musicians is redefining folk music while reflecting on the country’s colonial past. Celtic Utopia follows traditional folk musicians who make music “to frighten priests and politicians”: melancholic, outspoken and full of humour. They pass on their stories just as they would pass a melody around in a jam session, tracing a county’s transformation over the course of 100 years. Featuring Mary Wallopers, The Deadlians, Poor Creature, Negro Impacto and Lankum, among others.
