FromValentina Primavera

Year2018

Duration80min.

The ongoing m:pathy film series regularly poses the critical and reflective question “Who cares?” and invites the audience to find answers together through films from the fields of education, health, and social services. The next film in the series is Valentina Primavera’s compelling documentary *UNA PRIMAVERA*.

Fiorella, a mother of three, decides at the age of 58 to leave her husband and her home following a final episode of domestic violence. After 40 years of marriage, she files for divorce in search of freedom and attempts to reclaim her own life. Filmmaker Valentina Primavera, Fiorella’s youngest daughter, follows her mother’s first steps into an unknown future. A complex journey begins that confronts both her and her social circle with deeply entrenched patriarchal structures and, above all, highlights their devastating effects on family and society.

Following the screening, a discussion with director Valentina Primavera and professionals who support women* affected by violence is planned.
