TŌKYŌ GODDOFĀZĀZU
Christmas Eve in Tokyo: runaway Miyuki, drag queen Hana and Gin, who is not averse to alcohol, are a mismatched trio of homeless people who find an abandoned baby in the midst of rubbish bags. They decide to take the little girl home and look for her parents. They embark on an adventurous odyssey, during which they not only encounter numerous bizarre characters and have to overcome many a dangerous situation, but above all find themselves ... Satoshi Kon transforms the harsh reality of Japan's urban juggernaut into an imaginatively drawn Christmas tale in which three outsiders become heroes, and which makes (not only) cineastes' eyes light up with allusions to classics by Capra, Ford and Chaplin.
