A young Kurdish woman in Syria leads an all-female unit into battle against the Islamic State—fighting for freedom and women’s rights. Her struggle is underscored by the voice of a Yazidi survivor, enslaved by the IS as a child, who reveals exactly what is at stake should this fight be lost.
