The World We Live In

At the outset of the new streaming platform THIS IS SHORT, the theme of The World We Live In sparked attention—not only among visitors to the online portal but also among the festivals of the European Short Film Network (ESFN), which jointly operate and curate the platform. For this reason, the theme was promptly utilized for an analog collaboration of the network in the cinema—with films that can equally represent each festival, as well as the state of the world around us. The selected works delve into the ways we interact, the growing sense of detachment, and the desire to come together when things go awry. (dhe)
The ESFN selection will be shown at a total of four film festivals in 2024.
