The Nutty Professor
The clumsy and unlucky in love Professor Julius Kelp (trademarks: buck teeth and thick horn-rimmed glasses) is a textbook failure. However, he has now developed a serum that transforms him into his attractive but monstrously narcissistic alter ego Buddy Love. But the transformation only lasts for a short time... THE NUTTY PROFESSOR is considered Lewis's best-known work: based on Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, it reflects the inferiority complexes of his film characters in relation to the opposite sex as extremes that are mutually dependent. Thus, the film – which, incidentally, is visually very impressive – is divided into parody and tragedy, in which laughter repeatedly turns into discomfort.
