The New York Ripper

A serial killer is terrorizing New York. His victims: exclusively women; his weapon: anything sharp, from a razor to a broken bottle; his modus operandi: lying in wait, butchering, and mutilating as savagely as possible; distinguishing features: likely left-handed, with a croaking voice. Lieutenant Williams—a wreck of a man in uniform—investigates amidst a grimy, grey Gotham that seems to consist essentially of live sex shows, empty subway stations, morgues, and filthy side streets. Another highlight in the filmography of anarchic auteur and super-surrealist Lucio Fulci! (Olaf Möller)
