Colin is in a reform school for theft, where the aim is to turn him into a ‘useful’ member of society. When he takes an interest in long-distance running, he wins the favour of the headmaster, who is hoping for a victory in the upcoming competitions. A study of the individual’s protest against a conformist society and a classic of the British ‘Free Cinema’ movement.
