The musician Al Cook lives alone in his old apartment and a small basement studio, surrounded by memories: books, videotapes, and records bear witness to a life once full of fulfillment. Here, time seems to stand still, while outside the world keeps turning. The blues, the music that means everything to him, is slowly fading into oblivion. His hometown no longer feels like home, and the loss of his beloved wife Silvia weighs heavily on him. When a ruthless real estate company wants to tear down his house, the question arises: How does one go on living when the space for memories is lost? Forced to leave everything familiar behind, he dares to make a radical fresh start.
