The Killer (4K Restauration)

From John Woo

With Chow Yun-Fat, Danny Lee, Sally Yeh

Year 1989

Duration 111 min.

John Woo’s now-cult classic THE KILLER, first released in Austrian cinemas by Polyfilm in 1997, returns to the big screen in stunning 4K!

Jeff (Chow Yun-fat) is a professional hitman planning to leave his deadly line of work for good. During a fierce shootout in a nightclub, singer Jenny (Sally Yeh) is blinded by gunfire from Jeff’s weapon, leaving her eyesight severely impaired. Deeply shaken by the incident and consumed by guilt, Jeff decides to take on one last job. He intends to use the money to pay for an operation that could save Jenny’s sight.

Jeff carries out his assignment, but the case is handed to police inspector Li (Danny Lee), who becomes fascinated by the melancholic killer and recognises a kindred spirit in him. Before long, Li and Jeff find themselves facing an army of trigger-happy gangsters. A deadly confrontation is inevitable.
