The Iron Claw

THE IRON CLAW is a film biography based on true events. It tells the story of professional wrestler Fritz von Erich: of the family dynasty of wrestlers he and his sons built up from the 1960s onwards and of the tragic events that have befallen the family over the years.

Kevin, Kerry, Mike and David von Erich are inseparable brothers - even within the wrestling ring, which they really stirred up in the early 1980s. But as strong as they appear in the ring, in reality they have very little to say. Because all the strings are pulled exclusively by the patriarch of the family: their father Jack, known as Fritz.

He trains them and ensures that the competition between them is constantly fuelled. And no matter how hard they try, they never manage to step out of his shadow and into the limelight. Not all of them can withstand the enormous pressure that determines their everyday lives. Then a tragedy confronts the family with the cruel reality... It can't go on like this. Something has to change - or is it perhaps already too late?
