The Infidel

A British comedy with biting wit: Mahmud, a Muslim living in London, discovers by chance that he was adopted as a baby – and is biologically Jewish. What follows is a satirical exploration of religious identity, prejudice and the surprising parallels between Judaism and Islam. Amidst rabbinical lessons and self-doubt, the film poses a pointed question: how much of ‘who we are’ is down to our origins – and how much is a matter of choice?
