Everyone goes on vacation – at any cost. In a world where the perfect summer holiday has long since become a status symbol, the Škrbić family makes a decision that is as absurd as it is brilliant: unable to afford a trip, they lock themselves in their apartment for ten days and pretend to neighbours, friends, and on social media that they are away. What begins as a harmless white lie quickly spirals into a hilarious game of hide-and-seek filled with improvised excuses, awkward encounters, and chaotic misunderstandings. Yet, there is more to the story than just a quirky premise and biting humour. Inspired by true events in Banja Luka, Gvozden Đurić’s debut portrays a society where success is increasingly measured by perfect vacation photos and carefully curated facades.
