The Driller Killer
Screening of a 35mm print on September 25; screening of a DCP on September 27.
Reno Miller is one of the masses of artists hoping to make their big break in New York. The problem is, he isn't selling anything; his gallerist, Dalton, has lost interest in funding him; a rock band rehearsing loudly is getting on his nerves; and his landlord wants to see some money for a change... Then, one day, he snaps, grabs a drill, and tries his hand at a new kind of art. Abel Ferrara himself plays Reno Miller in this prime example of unapologetically Catholic pulp—a film that feels more like a confession than a conventional narrative. A scandal in its day, it is now a cornerstone of film (sub)culture! (Olaf Möller)
Strict age restriction applies to this screening (18+).
