The Cradle

The legendary skatepark THE CRADLE in Brixlegg/Rattenberg, Tyrol, officially opened on September 22, 2001, after nearly three years of construction. Since then, it has become a symbol of skateboarding—not just as a sport, but as a culture embraced by a community that continues to grow. At the time, a group of Austrian skateboarders joined forces with the American company Grindline Dreamland Skateparks to realize their vision of building “a one-of-a-kind skatepark in Brixlegg.” This documentary explores the obstacles they had to overcome and reveals how THE CRADLE helped shape the development of the European skateboarding scene.
