The Birdcage

Val, the son of Armand, who is gay, makes a surprise announcement that he wants to marry his girlfriend Barbara. However, Barbara’s parents are two conservative Republicans, and Barbara has told them that Armand is straight and married. The two families are to meet. Armand’s partner Albert is to play the part of Val’s uncle, and Katherine, Val’s mother, is to pretend to be married to Armand. On the day of the meeting, however, one mishap follows another.
