Colourful, vibrant and spectacular: Teddy, Sun and Xyza have brought the voguing and ballroom culture that first emerged in New York to South-East Asia. They call their dance groups ‘houses’. And these are more than just safe havens from homophobia, transphobia, racial discrimination and HIV stigma. These houses are the families they have always longed for, having grown up in difficult circumstances. These ballroom dancers warm our hearts with their dedication to what they love and need: a family that supports them. This heart-warming celebration of diversity and acceptance, directed by Sze-Wei Chan from Singapore, premiered to overwhelming acclaim at the Busan International Film Festival.
