The plague is ravaging humanity and causing a rift among four vampire sisters over ethical dilemmas: starve? Face extinction? Or devour the healthy and possibly risk the end of both species? A good six centuries later, in the 1980s, the daughter of one of the four finds herself in the midst of a new pandemic. The mortal she loves, to whom she must not reveal her true identity, is HIV-positive.
