See You in Montevideo (Montevideo, vidimo se!)

The second instalment of the successful football saga from Serbia takes us to the capital of Uruguay. After a gruelling journey across the Atlantic lasting several weeks, the national team of what was then the Kingdom of Yugoslavia arrives at the venue of the 1930 World Cup. The team from the Balkans is completely unknown here and a clear underdog. The players have to check into a cheap hotel and immediately face the stars of the Brazilian national team, which was already famous back then. The unfamiliar surroundings, all manner of romantic temptations, cunning football agents, rivalries amongst themselves – there is no shortage of distractions. Ultimately, however, Tirke, Moša and their teammates do not allow themselves to be deterred from their path. They are full of confidence, have a vision, trust in their talent, demonstrate perseverance and walk into the stadium with their heads held high, where they then actually defeat Brazil in their opening match and attract a great deal of attention. Will they pull off the huge sensation? The sequel to the box-office hit about one of the most important milestones in Yugoslavia’s sporting history was also very well received by audiences. It was even nominated for the Foreign Language Oscar and celebrated its Austrian premiere at the LET’S CEE Film Festival in 2015.
