Save the Tiger
Businessman Harry Stoner, who is knowingly facing bankruptcy with his textile factory and should actually file for insolvency, contacts a professional arsonist instead, as he wants to use the promised insurance sum to restart his company. SAVE THE TIGER tells the story of the flipside of the American dream: the economic boom of the post-war years is long gone. Harry fears for his life's work and only sees a chance of survival by crossing borders or becoming a criminal. Jack Lemmon, usually seen in comic roles, plays the pressurised factory owner who is driven by the changed economic conditions. He won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his gripping performance.
