Safety Last!

A young man comes to the big city to make his fortune. He wants to use the money he earns to marry his girlfriend. Although he only manages to land a job as a simple sales assistant in a department store, dealing with hysterical customers, he pretends in numerous letters to his girlfriend that he is a successful businessman. When she visits him one day, he wants to maintain this illusion, but he is short of money. He therefore enters a competition that could earn the winner $1,000. To do so, he must climb the façade of a twelve-storey skyscraper. With plenty of humour and acrobatic skill, the young man rises to the challenge. The film featuring the clock remains one of the most famous silent comedy films to this day. The photograph of Lloyd on the clock hand is one of the most iconic in film history.
