Rotting in the Sun

Director Sebastián is in desperate need of a break from Mexico City. Caught between depression, endless doomscrolling, and absurd amounts of ketamine, he escapes to a beach town popular with gay vacationers in search of some much-needed peace. There, he meets the outgoing influencer Jordan Firstman (fresh off the buzz surrounding Club Kid) and reluctantly agrees to collaborate on Jordan's upcoming television series. But when Jordan returns to Mexico City to put the project into motion, Sebastián has vanished without a trace—and his anxious housekeeper Vera seems to know more than she is willing to reveal.

Produced in collaboration with Robert Pattinson's production company Icki Eneo, Rotting in the Sun is an unconventional and refreshingly audacious quasi-detective story from the master of cringe comedy. This wild, sexually explicit meta-comedy gleefully skewers the film industry and its culture of self-absorption.
