"And if my story were an epitaph, I’d have a short one ready for myself. I would have written on my gravestone: I had a lover’s quarrel with the world.” (Robert Frost) The Oscar-winning documentary Robert Frost: A Lover’s Quarrel with the World portrays the legendary American poet, filmed with the playfulness and intimacy that are the hallmarks of director Shirley Clarke. She captures both Frost’s witty, brilliant lectures at Sarah Lawrence College and Amherst College, as well as scenes with his students in which humour plays a major role alongside the teaching. Preceding this: A Moment in Love, one of Clarke’s most famous short dance films, choreographed by Anna Sokolow. (D.D.)
