Repo Man
Young punk Otto has lost his job and sees little hope for his future. By chance, he finds work with a shady company that repossesses cars from delinquent owners—the so-called “repo men.” Before long, Otto becomes entangled in a bizarre pursuit of a mysterious Chevrolet Malibu, coveted not only by rival repo men, but also by government agents, conspiracy theorists, and even extraterrestrials.
Alex Cox's Repo Man (1984) is a delirious blend of science fiction, punk comedy, road movie, and social satire. Fueled by anarchic humor, eccentric characters, and a legendary soundtrack, the film captures the spirit of 1980s American punk culture and has become one of the defining cult classics of independent cinema.
