[REC]

A TV crew led by reporter Angela spends a night at a fire station in Barcelona when they receive an emergency call from a block of flats. Once there, the TV cameras document the gradual infection of the residents with a virus that causes them to mutate into bloodthirsty ragers. With [Rec], Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza have directed one of the most efficient and suspenseful horror thrillers of the noughties, which still plays to the audience's hearts, minds and stomachs with its combination of a classic, religiously underpinned horror story and the unusual immediacy of the point-of-view perspective.
