Quo vadis, Aida?
Srebrenica, July 1995: interpreter Aida attempts the impossible in the UN camp: constantly on the move, she mediates between the army, blue helmets and a growing number of refugees. As the situation at the gates escalates over time, Aida fights an increasingly hopeless battle for her compatriots - and her own family ... The atrocities committed almost 30 years ago are still open wounds in the former Yugoslavia today. A courageous, active protagonist forms the heart of Žbanić's award-winning film (co-produced by Barbara Albert), an almost Kafkaesque tour de force through the hell of institutions, surrounded by men who are both inactive and cowardly - and in many ways speechless and breathless.
