Queen – Champions of the World
When news of Freddie Mercury’s death from AIDS spread around the world on November 24, 1991, it brought shock and grief—a dark day in the history of music. Nearly four years later, Rudi Dolezal and Hannes Rossacher—who, from the mid-1980s onwards, were close associates of the band and producers of many of Queen’s most iconic music videos—compiled an impressive collection of material. The band’s trajectory is explored in great detail, as are the stories behind their most significant songs and performances—from "Bohemian Rhapsody" to the 1992 tribute concert. It is in this spirit that "Champions of the World" should be viewed: as a multifaceted tribute to an energetic and extravagant frontman. The legend lives on—the show must go on. (Florian Widegger)
