Promis le ciel (Promised Sky)
Marie, a priest, leads an informal church community; Naney scrapes by with small-scale illegal dealings; and Jolie is studying engineering. In their home country, Côte d’Ivoire, they would hardly have met. In Tunis, their paths cross: as people from sub-Saharan Africa, they live here united in the hope of a better future and in fear of racist attacks and state repression. Their community is portrayed with sensitivity yet realism – and their solidarity is put to the test when a little orphan girl suddenly turns up.
