Pourquoi pas! (Warum nicht!)
Three dropouts disappointed by their previous relationships have formed a bisexual commune: Fernand (Sami Frey) takes care of the household, his partner Louis (Mario Gonzales) plays jazz music, and their lover Alexa (Christine Murillo) earns a living. This blissful arrangement of free love is put to the test when new tenants move in... As a writer and director, Coline Serreau is best known for her internationally successful comedy Trois hommes et un couffin (Three Men and a Baby, 1985), but she already demonstrated the effortless wit that became the hallmark of her imaginative comedies of manners in her cinema debut Pourquoi pas! Serreau's first feature film also caused a stir when it was released as a pioneering work due to its realistic portrayal of a love triangle at a time when homosexuality in mainstream comedies usually caused a stir.
