Podiumsdiskussion II – Umwelt
The second panel discussion of Female Tracks 2025 is dedicated to the question of living together in the light of the climate catastrophe and the role of artistic forms of expression in resistance, but also in the development of visions of a climate-neutral and sustainable life on earth. Various voices will explore aspects and possibilities of uprising and protest in order to discuss visions for a good coexistence.
Discussants:
Emma Dirnhofer (*2003, Austria) is a student and activist committed to climate justice. She was active in the Last Generation from November 2023 to August 2024. There she took part in numerous protest actions and was involved in mobilisation.
Stephanie Falkeis is a writer and director from the Austrian Alps who lives and works between New York, Paris and Vienna. A Fulbright Scholar with an M.F.A. from Columbia University, her work explores the fluid boundaries between the personal and the political, as well as our complex relationship with nature. At the Hof Film Festival, she spoke on a panel about climate storytelling. Her films have been shown internationally at festivals and have received numerous awards. www.stephaniefalkeis.com
Her short film ‘Elegy for a Glacier’ (US/AT/CA 2023) will be shown as part of Female Tracks.
Vera Djemelinskaia (AT/MD) is a PhD candidate, choreographer and communication expert working at the intersection of embodied cognition and socio-political change. She supports social movements, research institutes and international organisations in the design of citizen and policy interventions. www.veradje.com
