One, Two, Three

The situation is hopeless, but not serious: the Cold War, Coca-Cola, a young American woman as the bride of a "dirty communist" and an egomaniacal company boss with "expansion plans towards the East" are the ingredients for Wilder's furious farce, whose puns and gags almost overtake each other. Shooting was overshadowed by the construction of the Berlin Wall, and the film was not very well received when it was released due to the political escalation at the beginning of the 1960s. It was only after its re-release in 1985 and especially since the fall of the Wall that ONE, TWO, THREE has enjoyed cult status among German audiences.
