On the high seas (Auf allen Meeren)

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, AUF ALLEN MEEREN is being shown for the first time in a digitally restored version. In the film, Johannes Holzhausen accompanies the Soviet aircraft carrier Kiev on its final voyage to China. Once a symbol of military strength, the ship now reflects a bygone era. Through the memories of its former officers and sailors, individual stories come together to provide a reflection on the collapse of the Soviet Union, its myths and its transition to a new geopolitical order.
