Oliver!

Oliver! brings the world of Charles Dickens to the screen with opulent production design. The story centers on the orphan boy Oliver, who navigates the harsh realities of 19th-century London and ultimately falls into the hands of Fagin and his gang of thieves. This character, in particular, carries a heavy historical weight: Fagin was already referred to as "the Jew" in Dickens' novel and carries with him a long tradition of antisemitic stereotyping.
