Offside

To watch the World Cup qualifying match between Iran and Bahrain, football-mad women dress up as men. But the authorities show no mercy: while cheers echo from the stadium, they wait to be taken away by the morality police – and look for ways to get inside after all. With plenty of humour, this film, which was immediately banned in its home country, shows that joie de vivre and oppression do not go together.
