Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie
How hard can it really be to land a gig with your own band at the Rivoli, a club in Toronto? Especially when you have chosen a name as promising as “Nirvana The Band.” Two possible explanations for why the answer is “very difficult to downright impossible” are that the Canadian two-man band, consisting of Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol, have not only forgotten to contact the club’s management, but have also failed to write even a single line of a song.
Their doomed efforts and highly entertaining failures are at the heart of the rightly cult-adored web series Nirvana The Band The Show, which was produced from 2007 to 2009.
