Nightcrawler
Unemployed and desperate for work, Lou Bloom discovers a lucrative niche in Los Angeles: armed with a camera and a police scanner, he prowls the streets at night, chasing accidents, crimes, and other shocking events to sell the footage to television news stations. Before long, the ambitious loner becomes a successful “nightcrawler.” But as his success grows, he increasingly crosses the line between observer and participant.
NIGHTCRAWLER (2014), directed by Dan Gilroy, is a dark and gripping thriller about sensationalist journalism, media greed, and the darker side of the American dream. Jake Gyllenhaal delivers a chilling performance as the ruthless Lou Bloom, a man for whom morality is merely an obstacle on the road to success.
