Nebelkind: The End of Silence

From Tereza Kotyk

With Jeanne Werner, Susanne Michel, Anton von Lucke, Klára Melísková u.a.

Year 2024

Duration 94 min.

Language German

The story of the young Viennese wolf breeder Hana, who follows the trail of an escaped animal across the border to the Czech Republic and unexpectedly finds herself in a place whose tabooed past still has a traumatic effect on her generation.

Following the trail of an escaped wolf, wolf keeper Hannah reluctantly heads to her grandmother's Czech home village near the Austrian border. Hannah's mother still lives here, but she has not made any friends in the village by trying to come to terms with her traumatic family history. Hannah can no longer escape the tabooed past either. It's time to break the silence ... Tereza Kotyk's consistent film vividly shows how avoiding talking about what happened leads to unresolved suffering for generations.
