Mozart

To mark the 200th anniversary of Mozart's birth, Hartl is filming the last year of his life and focussing on the creation of The Magic Flute. This is a project close to Oskar Werner's heart: he wants to portray the composer as realistically as possible, which is made difficult by what he sees as a kitschy script. Nonetheless, the film was met with critical acclaim and even screened in Cannes, where François Truffaut became aware of his future actor.
